As our 44-Hour Funding Drive rolls on here at the Obama Foundation, we wanted to tell you about a very special event happening here in Chicago this weekend. And no, we’re not talking about Lollapalooza.
Right now in Chicago, a group of young leaders is gathering to solve the pressing issues in their communities, and in a couple of weeks, another group in Hartford will do the same. As members of our 2019 Community Leadership Corps, these young people have spent the last two months gathering input from community members and reflecting on the change they want to make, from tackling housing insecurity to raising mental health awareness.
We’re bringing them together now to help them make a plan for change, before giving them the support and resources they need to see those plans through.
As a gift to President Obama on his 58th birthday tomorrow, we’re asking you to support the Community Leadership Corps and programs like it that empower emerging leaders around the world. Your gift will also help us bring the Obama Presidential Center to life—a place we know will inspire and empower many more people. Make a gift now.
We can’t imagine a better gift for President Obama than thousands of people pitching in to support the vision he cares so deeply about, and we hope you’ll be one of them.
With your support, we might just be able to make it possible for young leaders—like those hard at work in Chicago this weekend—to bring their dreams for a better community to life.
